Definition: The place of the dead, indistinguishable from abaddon H11. This form occurs in Proverbs 27:20 where, along with Sheol, it identifies death as a place that can always hold more just as the eyes of humans always want more. This word originally may have been abedoh H9 or abaddon H11 but was changed in the transmission of the ancient manuscript.
